Priorsford Primary loves upcycling…

…and we love the School! They asked Richard – plastic bottles constructions designer, to build one in Peebles, so that kids could assist on the site and learn, too. There you go! Last Wednesday pupils were preparing bottles to be fit into the walls by cutting off the bottoms. There were some volunteers, too and team spirit helped to overcome unpleasant weather conditions and complete the greenhouse. It now shines on a playground, absorbing light and is ready to use for growing plants, as a shelter or a play room.

Fancy building your own plastic shelter? SCI can help you, offering different packages:

– full supervision and build with SCI

– SCI builds the frame and provides training & supervision to self build with bottles

– self build using “Plastics are Fantastic” booklet & SCI consultation (SCI spends two days on site at crucial construction points).

More about waste education package can be found here: http://www.sci-scotland.org.uk/bottle.shtml

Prefer being your own boss and work alone in your backyard? Why not go through Plastics are Fantastic booklet for tips and photos to help you start. Earthship shop is so close! It’s here: http://www.sci-scotland.org.uk/shop.shtml
