Fife Science Festival at Earthship Fife Visitor Centre

Fife Science Festival at Earthship Fife Visitor Centre

Sustainable Communities Initiatives’s creative workshop is a part of Fife Science Festival’s programme!

After 12 years of ever-evolving creative ideas at SCI (Sustainable Communities Initiatives) we have launched a new book, ‘Plastics are (still) Fantastic’. It is full of great ideas of things to make with your family and friends, with the help of easy-to-follow instructions. During the workshop, we will guide you step-by-step through DIY techniques. Come and enjoy turning plastic drinks bottles into flowers, windmills, bird-feeders, spiders, rockets and much more. It’s fun and creative, and it’s free.

About the venue

The Earthship Fife Visitor Centre is a fully autonomous, self-sustaining building and the first and only in Scotland. It is a highly energy efficient building made from natural and recycled materials – mostly tyres filled with earth, aluminium cans and bottles. Come and see how it works, take a tour and do our close-up quiz for children!

2014 is the 10th anniversary of the Earthship Fife Visitor Centre and we have lots of events planned. The 23rd March will mark the re-opening of the Earthship to visitors. Keep an eye on the website for further information about our anniversary and for opening times: http://www.sci-scotland.org.uk.
